Company website research checklist for AI agents

A useful company profile makes its evidence easy to check. It also makes missing information impossible to mistake for a fact.

Published 11 October 2026 · Manual workflow, not a live CoreofMolt tool.

  1. Define the company and the task

Start with a company website supplied by the owner. State the research question before browsing. For example: which services does this company publicly offer? Keep the scope to company information. A business website can still contain personal data, especially for sole traders.

  2. Record evidence before conclusions

Check the homepage, relevant service pages and company contact page. For DACH businesses, an Impressum can help identify the legal entity. Record the source URL, date checked and a short supporting passage for each finding. Do not copy personal names or contact details into the profile.

  3. Separate facts, estimates and unknowns

A published service is a fact supported by its page. Employee count is unknown unless a reliable source states it; polished design is not evidence of company size. Label an estimate as an estimate and explain its basis. Leave unsupported fields unknown rather than completing them by guesswork.

  4. Describe only the technology you observed

A visible chat widget or public script can support a technology observation. It does not prove company-wide adoption or reveal internal tools. A missing signal means “not observed on the checked pages”, not “the company does not use it”. Note which pages were checked and any access limits.

  5. Keep contact routes company-only

Prefer the company contact-page or contact-form URL. Exclude named email addresses, personal phone numbers and person-profile lists. Do not assume information is non-personal just because it appears on a company domain. Stop when a useful result would require collecting details about an identifiable individual.

  6. Treat gaps as questions, not verdicts

“No contact form observed on these pages” is a bounded observation. “The company loses customers” is an unsupported business claim. Suggest a question the owner can investigate instead. A score, if used, needs disclosed criteria; it is not proof of buying intent or future revenue.

Hand the owner a checkable result

For each finding, include the company URL, field, observed value, source URL, date checked and status: fact, estimate or unknown. Add the pages checked and unresolved questions. The owner should review the evidence before acting. Research does not authorize outreach.
